This handwoven pure cotton khadi jamdani saree has a muted dusty-rose body framed by a wide open border in deep magenta and slate grey. Slate-grey peacock nakshi motifs are woven across the pallu, with smaller butis scattered over the body. The tones are understated and elegant, a gentler take on the peacock nakshi design. Peacock motifs reminiscent of South Indian temple-silk traditions are woven here in Bengal’s nakshi jamdani technique.
