Black, gold and nothing more. A timeless handloom classic.

This handwoven pure cotton khadi jamdani saree has a deep black body with a wide open border in antique gold. Chandmari motifs, semicircular fan-like arches with leaf-petal rays, run down both borders and across the pallu. The pallu carries a dense diamond-lattice jaal in cream-gold between two rows of chandmari arches, and small gold leaf butis are scattered over the body. The look is bold, elegant and regal while the fabric stays soft.

Why you’ll love it

  • Soft and body-hugging: The hand-spun khadi cotton is breathable and light, and it falls in natural folds that cling gracefully. It softens further with every wash.
  • True jamdani technique: The motifs are woven into the fabric on the loom with extra-weft thread, not printed or embroidered, so each saree is slightly unique.
  • Chandmari open border: A broad antique-gold border with a repeating semicircular chandmari design stands out sharply against the black body.
  • Statement pallu: A geometric diamond-and-key jaal in cream-gold, framed above and below by chandmari arch bands and fine pin-stripes.
  • Blouse piece included: Comes with an unstitched blouse piece, so you can stitch it in the style you prefer.
  • Hand-knotted net tassels: The pallu ends in a jali-style knotted fringe in black, with gold tassels at the corners.

Perfect for: Weddings, receptions, pujas, evening gatherings, formal and office wear, gifting, and anyone who prefers a classic black-and-gold look.

Styling tip: Stitch the included blouse piece in black for a monochrome look, or in gold, maroon or deep red for contrast. Antique gold, temple or oxidised silver jewellery all suit this saree.
