A pure cotton Begampuri saree in soft off-white, framed by a plain red temple border and dotted with woven star butis in red and mustard — light, breezy, and easy to wear every day.

Full Product Description

This one keeps things simple — and that's exactly its strength. Handwoven on pit looms in Begampur, Hooghly, the saree is built around a soft off-white cotton body, finished with a plain red border that fades gently into the white through a fine temple-tip edge rather than a heavy ikat pattern.

Scattered across the body are small woven star motifs in red, with the occasional one picked out in mustard-yellow — evenly spaced, understated, and easy to spot only when the light catches the weave. The pallu carries the same red border down one edge and closes with narrow red-and-white stripes, with a few star butis carried through, before ending in a soft cotton fringe.

Where the other Begampuri pieces in this weave lean on bold ikat borders, this one is quieter — closer to a daily-wear cotton than a festive statement piece, though the red keeps it firmly wearable for pujas and family occasions too. It pairs equally well with a contrast blouse (the deep purple shown here works nicely) or a plain red one for a more traditional look.

As with all handloom pieces, small irregularities in the weave and buti placement are natural and are a mark of the handwoven process, not a flaw.
