A pure cotton Begampuri saree in soft cream, woven through with fine orange windowpane checks and a bold orange temple border scattered with tiny heart motifs.

Full Product Description

This one plays with pattern rather than border weight. Handwoven on pit looms in Begampur, Hooghly, the saree's cream body is woven through with a fine orange windowpane check — thin white grid lines running over a soft orange tint, giving the fabric a subtle, textured warmth even before the border comes in.

The border itself is a broader, saturated orange, ruled through with the same fine checked lines and finished in a crisp temple-tip zigzag where it meets the cream. Scattered along the inner edge of the border and across the pallu are small woven heart motifs in orange — an unexpected, playful detail against the traditional geometry of the checks.

The pallu closes with narrow pink-and-cream stripes running below the main check panel, keeping the hearts going right down to the fringe. It's a soft, warm-toned saree that sits somewhere between festive and everyday — cheerful enough for Poila Boishakh or a daytime celebration, simple enough to wear to work with a plain blouse.

Because it is handwoven, small variations in the checks and motif spacing are natural and are part of the charm of a handloom piece, not a flaw.
