Hartalika teej (or Tij) is the most important of all the three Teej festivals observed by Hindu women (the others are Kajari Teej and Hariyali Teej). It is celebrated on the Tritiya (3rd day) of the Shukla Paksha (waning phase of the moon) in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada.

Married women observe rigorous fast on this day for the safety and long life of their husbands and unmarried girls keep this vrat to get good husband. The festival is celebrated to honour Goddess Parvati and Lord Shiva.

Thank you so much Nishita for sharing these beautiful pictures with us and making us part of your celebrations.
